Camping, Black Stars begin with training today at Cape Coast for the World Cup Qualifies.

 GHANA BLACK STARS START TRAINING TODAY FOR THEIR UPCOMING MATCH.



Black Stars will start camping ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia in Cape Coast today.

On Monday, 13 players trained at the McDan Park which is located in La. Coach CK Akonnor took the boys through a one hour drill with goalkeepers coach Richard Kingston and GFA Technical Director Bernhard Lippert monitoring the training.

The players who turned up today for training are, youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, captain Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Emmanuel Lomotey, Samuel Owusu, goalkeeper Richard Attah, Abdul Baba Rahman, Emmanuel Gyasi, Jonathan Mensah, goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Ismail Ganiyu.

Coach Akonnor added new names to the initial 30 man squad due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and injuries to some key members of the team.

Joseph Aidoo, Braydon Manu, and Daniel Kofi Kyereh have been drafted into the team for the World Cup qualifiers.

The team is expected to play against Ethiopia on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 7pm. Ghana will hope to start the campaign on a high.


The number of players in camp is expected to shoot up on Tuesday as some Europe-based players were expected to flight in on Monday night.

Ghana will open their campaign against Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium in on Friday 3 September 2021.

Three days later, the Black Stars will be in Johannesburg to face South Africa.
